Foundations of Chinese Medicine
This class is a brief overview and demonstration of Chinese Medicine. This class will introduce and explain the philosophical foundations of Chinese medicine by covering the concepts of qi, yin and yang, and the five phases. In addition the class will address how Chinese medicine can be of benefit to a wide variety of contemporary health concerns and explain how an acupuncturist goes about making a diagnosis by feeling the pulse and looking at the tongue. Any questions will be answered and a demonstration of needling will be done. This class will be held June 21, 2017 at the Nashville Community Education facility and anyone interested can register at www.nashville.gov.ce.
Chinese Numerology: An IntroductionThe way a culture understands numbers reveals it's deep perspective on how the world works. Join me for an introductory investigation into Chinese Numerology. We will look at the Chinese characters for 1 - 10 and what these pictographs tell about Chinese cosmology.

Introduction to the Wu Xing (Five Phases)This class runs as an individual class or a short series in which students explore the five phases and how they are used to describe an individuals constitutional nature and how the systems of the body function together. During this class students will learn dietary and movement suggestions to benefit their constitutional nature and all the systems of the body.

Classes for Licensed Acupuncturists
Ten Thousand Things: The Etymology, Poetry, and Deep Meaning of Acupuncture Point Names
This class is an exploration of the Chinese character names of acupuncture points for licensed acupuncturists. In the class, we will investigate Daoist philosophy, poetry, etymology, and meditation to strengthen our ability to use point names in our acupuncture practices. We will explore ways to communicate the deep meaning of the characters, in order to enhance healing in our clients, as we cover specific point names along the 12 primary meridians. This class will engage the sense, intellectual,and emotional intelligence to understand the ancient and classic characters and connect those meanings to contemporary practice.
